I've been wanting to make new junk journals for a while now and finally sat down to start prepping some. But just after I started getting the journals ready, I received a message for a custom order of traveler's notebook inserts. I wanted to try making some since they are so popular right now, but just hadn't planned them out. I made three samples but they weren't quite the right size or color palette for what was requested, so I now have quite a few in total ready for purchase.

The three sample notebooks have details that I hadn't experimented with before: lace and stitching. I used the fancy stitches on a sewing machine to make them more interesting. For now, these three are the only notebooks to have these embellishments. I am out of most of my vintage lace and it would be boring if they all had the same type of accents anyway. I'll keep the stitching for special occasions (I also don't have 'round-the-clock access to a sewing machine at the moment).
Here's a few examples of how the custom order turned out. There were twelve inserts in all, in three different sizes. She had requested shabby chic and vintage botanicals, as well as small booklets and fold-outs for extra writing space. I will definitely be using some of these embellishments in future journals/notebooks (as well as the ones that were recently listed). I also wrapped each size in kraft paper to keep them safe and contained. It was fun wrapping them like that, so I may just do that for future journal or notebook orders (and definitely for other custom orders).
In addition to the tiny booklets, I also want to incorporate more stamping into all future journals (or at least the themes that would work well with stamping). I have so many stamps that I hardly ever use, and some of them look so cool against certain types of paper. The only downside is how messy the ink can get if the stamps don't have a wooden backing.

All available journals and traveler's notebooks are ready for purchase on Etsy (and more are coming very soon!). I am also accepting custom orders for both types of books. (But you may be charged a small restocking fee since I just finished so many at once!)
