The past few weeks I've been working on a new style of minimal traveler's notebook inserts. I made a few in each size with three different themes in total. Since they're so neutral, they work well for any occasion or journaler (unlike the very feminine feel that most of my journals have). The themes include Nature, Scientific, and Mineralogy. Each notebook has a few vintage book pages and many blank writing pages--and no embellishments of any kind.

The field guide pages were sourced from a 1983 edition of North American Wildlife published by Reader's Digest. In addition to the notebooks, I also created mini envelopes and a junk journal with the field guide pages and cover.

All of the full-color scientific pages are reproduction Victorian engravings by John Philips Emslie. The textbook pages were sourced from a 1959 edition of The Ice Age (published by Random House in their All About series).

The mineral pages are a blend of reproduction vintage book pages or engravings and pages from a 1986 publication of the Guide to Gems and Precious Stones (Simon & Schuster).

Currently there are 5 of each notebook size available on Etsy:
Nature Journal (Standard, 48 pgs)
Nature Journal (B6, 48 pgs)
Scientific Journal (Wide, 60 pgs)
Mineralogy Journal (A5, 60 pgs)

I also want to include the first free printable of the year! This little collection of field guide pages was selected from the same book featured in the Nature notebooks. They print well as full-page patterns, or the images could be cut out to use as stickers or journal cards. There are 5 total: deer, magnolias, salmon, mushrooms, and swallows.
Download whichever pages inspire you the most. Please remember that these are for personal use only.
