(Fancy new holiday header/cover image above!)
I participated in a second craft fair last weekend. It was my first time being in this particular one and it turned out to be a pretty big success. Eight journals and one hot air balloon went to new homes, and most of them were intended to be gifts--so they may be traveling across the country at this point! The sale was at Peregrine Book Company.

I've also been working on updating all of the product images on Etsy and the recently opened Tictail. I wanted to do something rustic and different, so I used brown package/butcher paper as a background for all products. But some of them just didn't look good--so I re-shot the dishes and junk journals against a white background. And they look amazing. They look fresh and clean and the colors really pop. (The lighting was also better than previous images, so that helped a lot too.)

Ok, so, back to Tictail. I opened another online shop. Exposure (specifically the right exposure with the right audience) can be difficult. Certain products will appeal to certain people and if you're using the wrong outlet, your products may not appeal to anyone. I was never sure if my catch-all dishes would fit in on Etsy, but I'm hoping they may fit better on Tictail. Etsy is also more difficult to be discovered just because of how many sellers are creating things--which is great, but hard to compete with.
It's too early to say for sure right now, but I'm hoping that this new venue will prove more successful for my catch-all dishes. I don't think I'll be making more once they sell out but maybe I'll be inspired again in the future. We shall see.

I'm officially done crafting until the end of the year (and a little beyond that). But I'm happy with what I've made. May next year bring even more junk journals and craft fairs!
