Early Summer Update: So Many Altered Books

The past few months have been pretty busy with journal making and important life things. I've made 7 new junk journals since the beginning of May, and most of them were altered vintage and antique books. I acquired quite a few new books to work with (either from secondhand shops or gifted by others) and the pages were so inspiring.
The first little collection that released were the Lovely Ladies: Rosa, Marie, and Edith. These three were constructed with upcycled food packaging and covered in floral fabric. They are filled with feminine, homey elements and have many gardening and plant related pages. Cotton fabric is so easy to work with, and I can't wait to create more of these special covers.

The next collection featured two music themed junk journals. One was created from a sort of music theory book and the other repurposed an antique biography of Ludwig van Beethoven.

Lastly, I created three altered books in the Shades of Blue series. These all included pages from an illustrated encyclopedia-type book featuring ships throughout history, which came out of the cover used in the Captain's Log junk journal. The Log was the largest journal I've created to date, measuring 8.5" by 11" while closed. The other two diaries were made from an upcycled novel and an antique dictionary.

In addition to all of the junk journals, I've also restocked the nature inspired Pen Pal Kit twice within the past few months. It's definitely become a bestseller! And although some of the materials and papers have changed slightly, they still contain the same amount of pieces.

A third limited edition Pen Pal kit was also just released. This one is perfect for summer and features ocean and travel elements. Only a few were made and they won't have these same types of papers again! View more of the Adventure ephemera pack here.

A few other restocks are in the works (specifically the Vintage and New ephemera pack and the garden themed Pen Pal kit), and one nature journal is coming soon. But until then, have a lovely and creative rest of your weekend!
